The PROMPT study tested the efficacy of treating with methotrexate 55 patients from a group of 110 patients who consulted for undifferentiated arthritis or who fulfilled the old criteria of probable arthritis (5 weeks or less of these symptoms: morning stiffness, pain in mobilization or in at least one joint, swelling of one joint, swelling of at least some other joint, symmetric swelling).

After one year 51 patients (46% of the total) had developed RA. It is interesting to note in this study that 22 (81%) of the 27 patients with anti-CCP developed RA during this period Flekosteel. After one year 51 patients (46% of the total) had developed RA.
